The website, monthly parent meetings, and regular meet ups have helped in networking and advocating for autistic individuals and families, and a big thank you goes to Allyson Gardner and Erik Flowers for their hard work and efforts.

We would like to continue to grow this website and our group, and provide additional useful content on this site. If you have any ideas or comments about topics you would like to be covered on our site, or you would like to contribute articles or information concerning autism, we would really appreciate your input. Please leave a comment, or email nicole@southernutahautism.com if you have any ideas for us.

Thank you so much to all the families, friends, teachers and professionals who continually support and advocate for autism in our community!

If you are interested in participating in this study, please email us at contact@southernutahautism.com

It could be a very cool opportunity for parents and children in Southern Utah, please read the announcement below:

Looking for volunteers to participate in the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

You are invited to participate in a pilot study (associated with the University of Utah). The program will be training parents of autistic children in the use of Mind Body Bridging from Dr. Stanley Blocks work and book “Come to Your Senses”. We will be presenting a unique and new approach to dealing with the challenges of parenting an autistic child with a sense of well-being and peace of mind and how to transform these challenges into solutions.

It is based on the premise that every individual is fully connected to a wellspring of healing, goodness, power and wisdom. However we all have a system in our bodies the identity system, that we recognize by a tense body and a cluttered mind. Through mind-body bridging you will be able to then be able to achieve and experience greater insightfulness into the life of your autistic child, which enables you to develop a stronger relationship and attachment with that child.

It is through this parent-child relationship that healing for the child then takes place, as the parent enables the child to experience a connection with their own wellspring of healing and goodness and knowledge, power and wisdom. Parents apply the principals to their lives, becoming intimately familiar with the process and experience and use their improved connection and understanding of their own child to help their children’s mind body connection.

This opportunity is free to public with a commitment to complete the full course, complete pre and post testing and practice the skills at home. This is an early announcement to obtain names and contact information of individuals interested. The course will run for 10 weeks (meeting every other week or 5 times with our meetings lasting 2 hours).

Open to all parents of children with any special needs. We’ll be addressing concerns, issues, & opportunities of siblings of children with special needs. When brothers and sisters of children with special needs were asked how their sibling’s illness/disability affected them, there were many common themes and concerns. We’ll look at those issues and how we as parents can make sure our relationships with each of our children, as well as their relationships with each other, are as healthy as possible!

Here you will find the best environment on the Internet for children living with various autism challenges.

Zac Browser is a totally free software package. It is the first Internet browser developed specifically for children living with variants of autism spectrum disorders (ASD), Asperger syndrome, Rett syndrome, childhood disintegrative disorder, PDD not otherwise specified and PDD-NOS, also called atypical autism.

Zac Browser was designed to offer a pleasant, rewarding and secure experience. Children sing, play and discover the best that the Internet has to offer with only a few clicks of the mouse.

Zac Browser is software that allows your child to access games (a lot of games) activities (based on diverse interests) along with videos (that allow a stimulating experience and encourages children to talk). All games, activities and videos are specifically chosen for their positive effect on children suffering from autism.

So why not do like a million other people have done throughout the world, install Zac Browser now.

The new version of Zac Browser now includes a link towards the latest news as well as open discussions on the subject of autism.
